VLP attorneys assist Holocaust Survivors at the Mayerson JCC

“Our thanks to attorneys Murray Griess, Patrick Alberts, Gene Droder, and Steve Friskney from GE Aviation, Adam Centner and Kristin Lenhart from Dinsmore, Charles Hollis III, and UC law student Ryan Sircy, for helping 22 Holocaust Survivors at a recent VLP clinic. The clients so appreciated the opportunity to meet with the attorneys in the familiar setting of the Jewish Family Services at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center,” stated Anne Lucas, VLP Managing Attorney.

All the individuals required the assistance of Russian-speaking interpreters to help communicate yet each client had the opportunity to spend several hours with the volunteer attorney, to ask questions about the life-planning documents, to understand how executing a Will, living will or powers of attorney can assist them in the future, and to leave the clinic with documents in hand.

“Without the assistance of the volunteer attorneys, willing to spend their day assisting these clients, it is unlikely any of them would have received these services,” noted Anne. “The attorneys were so pleased to be able to provide these services for such a worthy and appreciative group of people.  We are very grateful to them!”
