Happy 35th Anniversary to the Volunteer Lawyers For the Poor Foundation!

Oct 27, 2017

Legal Aid and the VLPF celebrated this milestone last night at Graydon’s stunning office. We were honored to have Judge Michael R. Barrett as our keynote speaker and to recognize the founders of the VLPF: Harry Santen, Robert Laufman, and Jerry Lawson.

Our thanks to VLPF board member and Graydon partner, Mike Roberts for hosting us. Thanks as well to our other great speakers: Scott Kane, VLPF board chairman; Joseph Heyd, VLPF board president; John J. Williams, President, Cincinnati Bar Association; & John Wagner, Montgomery Rennie & Jonson.

Special thanks to former VLPF board member and Graydon partner, Bruce Petrie, Jr., for his wonderful painting. Not only is it an amazing piece of art, but it gave us the fitting theme of “Equal Justice is the Unfinished Work of Many Hands.”

Lastly, thank you again to the firm coordinators and all the volunteer attorneys who have taken cases over the years. Your pro bono work makes a difference to our clients who would not have access to the justice system without you.
